Ataccama Pricing Model and Ataccama ONE Data Quality Pricing for Warehouse Teams
Ataccama does not publish a price. Its pricing page explains the meter, three dimensions that decide your tier, and then asks you to request pricing. Its AWS Marketplace listing shows three tiers at a placeholder of one dollar each. The closest public number is a median of 133,100 dollars a year reported by the procurement platform Vendr. This page sets out what Ataccama puts in writing, what the three dimensions mean for a warehouse with a few hundred tables, and where its observability checks reach. Then it puts a monitoring plan you can buy today, from 59.50 dollars a month, next to it.

What you get
What Ataccama charges for, line by line
The pricing page explains the meter and hides the number
Ataccama deserves credit for one thing most enterprise vendors skip. Its pricing page names exactly what drives the bill: named users, data objects managed in the platform, and active data quality configurations. It also promises that every limit is soft, that a short spike never triggers a charge, and that long term overages are handled collaboratively rather than back billed. What it does not show is a single dollar figure. The only buttons are Request pricing and Talk to an expert, so a budget owner still needs a call before an Ataccama line can go into next year's plan.
The AWS listing prices every tier at one dollar
The AWS Marketplace listing, titled Ataccama Data Quality and Master Data Management, sells software as a service on 12 month contracts. It shows three tiers, Essential for individual teams, Professional for multiple teams and Enterprise for organization wide use, each at 1.00 dollar for 12 months. That figure is a placeholder, and the listing says the final price is confirmed by Ataccama. Compare Collibra, which lists 170,000 dollars on AWS, or Alation, which starts at 60,000. Ataccama gives you the tier names and nothing to anchor them.
The public benchmark sits well into six figures
Vendr reports a median Ataccama contract of 133,100 dollars a year, with a low of 118,620 and a high of 328,620. A second aggregator, Costbench, reports a far higher median from only four buyer reports and labels it directional, so we give it little weight. The useful signal is the floor. Even the cheapest contract Vendr has seen is close to 10,000 dollars a month, which tells you Ataccama is priced as a platform for a data management program, not as a tool a data team expenses for one problem.
Active DQ configurations are the meter a monitoring buyer feels
For a team that wants observability, the dimension that grows fastest is active data quality configurations. Ataccama counts a quality or observability check as active if it ran at least once in the past 90 days, and inactive checks do not count. That is fair. It also means coverage and cost move together: every table you add to monitoring raises the count, and the count decides the tier. DataObservability prices by monitored tables in published steps, 50, 250 and 1,500, so you know the cost of covering the next hundred tables before you add them.
How it works
From connected to caught
Name the job you are actually buying
Ataccama ONE bundles data quality, profiling, a catalog, lineage, master data management, reference data and observability. If the pain is duplicate customers or a golden record, that is MDM. If tables arrive late or shrink before a dashboard refresh, that is monitoring. Write down the one that cost you most last quarter.
Count the three dimensions before the first call
List named users who will author rules, separately from people who only read. Count data objects, meaning tables, views, pipelines and BI reports you want under management. Estimate how many checks will run in a 90 day window. Those three numbers decide your tier.
Ask for the tier, the thresholds and the add-ons in writing
Request the tier name, the threshold on each dimension, the AI query allocation per named user, any add-ons, and the renewal terms. Ask which sources get freshness checks without custom configuration, so a Databricks or Redshift gap is priced before you sign.
Run a priced monitor on the same tables for 14 days
Start a DataObservability trial, connect read only to the warehouse you would put under Ataccama, and let freshness, volume, schema and distribution monitors generate on every table. You will know what monitoring alone catches, and what it costs, before an annual platform contract is on the table.
What the Ataccama pricing page puts in writing
The page headline is predictable costs and no hard volume limits. Below it, Ataccama lists the three dimensions that determine a tier. Named users are data professionals with full platform access, and consumer users with view permissions are unlimited at every tier. Data objects are things managed in Ataccama ONE, such as tables, views, pipelines and BI reports. Active DQ configurations are quality and observability checks executed at least once in the past 90 days. The FAQ adds that exceeding a limit does not interrupt operations or trigger charges, that short term spikes are fine, and that every named user gets an annual allocation of queries for the ONE AI agent, with extra allocations sold as an add-on. The page also cites a Forrester study and an ROI calculator. It does not print a price, a tier threshold or the size of the AI allocation.
How to read the Ataccama AWS Marketplace listing
The listing is a software as a service contract in 12 month terms, sold by Ataccama. It repeats the three tier names and the three sizing dimensions, notes that AI query allocations are included per named user, and lists Snowflake, Databricks, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle among its sources. Each tier shows 1.00 dollar for 12 months. On AWS that pattern usually means the vendor expects a private offer, so the price you pay is negotiated exactly as it would be in a direct contract. Refund and cancellation questions go to Ataccama's cloud governance team by email. The listing carries 4 stars from 23 ratings. Buying through AWS can still help if the spend counts against an existing AWS commitment, but it gives you no public price to compare.
What the Forrester study says about total cost
Ataccama commissioned a Forrester Total Economic Impact study in 2024. It modeled a composite organization with 20 billion dollars in annual revenue and reported a 348 percent return over three years, a net present value of 12.07 million dollars and present value benefits of 15.54 million. The difference between those two figures, about 3.47 million dollars, is the present value of the costs Forrester counted over three years, which covers licensing plus implementation and internal effort. That is a reasonable number for a bank or telecom rolling out data management across the enterprise. It is also a useful warning for a lean team: the platform is built and priced for programs of that size, and the implementation line can be as large as the license.
What Ataccama data observability actually checks
Ataccama's documentation describes four parts to data observability: monitoring against data quality rules, AI based anomaly detection for things like a sudden drop in volume or in a column average, schema change detection for removed attributes and altered data types, and data freshness. Checks run on a schedule you set, daily, weekly, monthly or with a cron expression. Alerts go to in app notifications, email, Slack and Microsoft Teams. Two details matter for a warehouse team. First, you must run at least a sample profile on a source before configuring observability, which means Ataccama reads rows from your tables and your warehouse bills that compute. Second, freshness works by default only on Snowflake, PostgreSQL, BigQuery and Oracle.
Ataccama on Databricks and Redshift
Ataccama connects to Databricks and Amazon Redshift for processing and cataloging, and Snowflake and Databricks connections support pushdown execution, so rules run inside the warehouse. Freshness monitoring is the gap. The documentation lists Snowflake, PostgreSQL, BigQuery and Oracle as the sources where freshness works out of the box, and says other sources need custom configuration that points Ataccama to where freshness information lives, a feature it labels experimental with no guarantee across upgrades. A stale table is the most common data incident, so a Databricks or Redshift team should test freshness during the evaluation rather than assume it. DataObservability reads freshness from metadata on Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks and Redshift on every plan.
How the Ataccama median compares with a published monitoring price
The gap is structural. Vendr's median Ataccama contract of 133,100 dollars a year is about 11,100 dollars a month, and the lowest reported deal, 118,620, is still about 9,900 a month, before implementation or warehouse compute. DataObservability Scale, with 1,500 monitored tables, column-level lineage, SSO and an audit log, costs 5,754 dollars a year. Team, with 250 tables and ML anomaly detection, costs 2,154. Starter, with 50 tables, costs 714. The comparison is only fair for one job. Ataccama buys data quality rules, cleansing, matching, master data, reference data, a catalog and governance in one platform. We buy learned freshness, volume, schema and distribution monitoring on four warehouses, with lineage and alert routing. If monitoring is the problem, you do not have to fund an MDM program to solve it.
When Ataccama is the right purchase, stated plainly
Ataccama earns its price when the deliverable is trusted master and reference data across a large, regulated business. Banks and insurers use it to standardize and match customer records, enforce validation rules at entry, manage reference codes and prove data quality to auditors, and the observability module then sits on top of rules they already maintain. For that buyer, one platform with one contract is simpler than four tools. Where a flat priced monitor wins is a lean data team on Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or Redshift with a dbt project and stale dashboards this quarter, which needs every table watched this week rather than a data management program next year.
Questions buyers ask
Ataccama pricing FAQ
Does Ataccama publish pricing?
No. ataccama.com/pricing explains the three sizing dimensions and offers a Request pricing button, and the AWS Marketplace listing shows each tier at a one dollar placeholder until Ataccama confirms the price. There is no public list price, tier threshold or per user rate.
What is the Ataccama pricing model?
An annual subscription with three tiers, Essential, Professional and Enterprise. The tier is set by named users with full access, data objects under management, and data quality configurations active in the past 90 days. Read only users are unlimited, limits are soft, and AI query allocations come per named user.
How much does Ataccama ONE cost?
Ataccama does not say. Vendr reports a median Ataccama contract of 133,100 dollars a year, with a range of 118,620 to 328,620. A Forrester study commissioned by Ataccama implies about 3.5 million dollars of three year costs for a 20 billion dollar enterprise, including implementation.
What counts as an active DQ configuration in Ataccama?
A quality or observability check that executed at least once in the past 90 days. Checks that have not run in that window do not count. For a monitoring buyer this is the dimension that grows with coverage, so ask for its threshold on each tier in writing.
Is there an Ataccama free trial?
Ataccama offers a custom demo through its demo hub and a guided evaluation scoped to your data and success criteria. It does not offer a self-serve trial with published pricing. DataObservability offers a 14 day trial on your own warehouse, after which plans start at 59.50 dollars a month billed yearly.
Does Ataccama data observability work with Databricks and Redshift?
Partly. Ataccama connects to both, but its documentation lists freshness checks out of the box only for Snowflake, BigQuery, PostgreSQL and Oracle; other sources need custom, experimental configuration. DataObservability monitors freshness on Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks and Redshift on every plan.
Is Ataccama cheaper than Informatica Data Quality?
On the public figures, roughly comparable. Informatica lists one bundle of 120 IPUs at 131,760 dollars for 12 months on AWS, and Vendr reports a median Ataccama contract of 133,100 dollars a year. Neither publishes a data quality rate, so compare written quotes for the same scope.
What is a cheaper alternative to Ataccama for data observability?
If you need monitoring rather than MDM and governance, a dedicated tool with published prices. DataObservability watches freshness, volume, schema and distribution on Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks and Redshift from 59.50 dollars a month billed yearly for 50 tables, or 479.50 for 1,500 tables with column-level lineage.
