Informatica Data Quality Pricing: License Cost, IPU Meters, and the 131,760 Dollar Contract

Informatica does not put a dollar figure on its pricing page. It sells Data Quality inside the Intelligent Data Management Cloud, paid for in Informatica Processing Units that you buy up front and spend across every service on the platform. The figure does exist, though, on the AWS Marketplace listing: one bundle of 120 IPUs a month for 131,760 dollars over twelve months. This page reads that listing and Informatica's own metering documentation, lists the five separate meters that can bill a data quality program, and sets the result against what warehouse monitoring costs when the price is published.

How much does Informatica Data Quality cost?

Informatica Data Quality is sold inside Informatica's cloud platform (IDMC) and paid for in Informatica Processing Units (IPUs), not per user or per table. The only public price is on AWS Marketplace: one bundle of 120 IPUs a month for 131,760 dollars over 12 months, about 91.50 dollars per IPU. Those IPUs are shared across every IDMC service, so data integration, profiling and cataloging all draw down the same balance. Informatica's own site offers a 30 day Cloud Data Quality trial and quotes everything else.

What you get

What the AWS listing and the metering docs tell you about the real price

The only public number is a 120 IPU bundle on AWS Marketplace

Informatica's consumption pricing page explains IPUs at length and does not print a dollar amount. Its buttons lead to a quote. The AWS Marketplace listing for the Intelligent Data Management Cloud is different: it uses a single contract dimension, one bundle of 120 Informatica Processing Units per month, priced at 131,760 dollars for twelve months. Divide it out and one IPU costs about 91.50 dollars on that listing, and a month of the bundle about 10,980 dollars. That is the figure to hold any quote against. Treat third party per IPU numbers you read elsewhere with suspicion, because several of them do not reconcile with the listing at all, and the listing is the one price Informatica itself has put on a public page.

IPUs are a shared wallet, so quality is never priced alone

The listing says it plainly: IPUs are a shared currency you spend across the eligible cloud data management services, drawn down from a monthly balance based on actual usage. That is convenient if you already run Informatica for integration, because a data quality program can borrow from credits you bought for pipelines. It is awkward if you want to know what data quality costs by itself, because nothing on the invoice says so. The IPU dashboard does break usage down by meter, and administrators can set threshold alerts, so ask for a sample usage report from a customer of your size before you believe any estimate of how many IPUs quality will need.

Five meters can bill a data quality program

Informatica's IPU meters documentation lists Data Quality, Data Quality with Advanced Serverless and Advanced Data Quality with Advanced Serverless, all measured in compute unit hours, plus Advanced Data Quality on its own and Data Quality Real Time, which is measured per million rows processed. Data Validation is a sixth compute hour meter, and Address Verification bills per thousand rows with separate rates for Ireland and Great Britain. In practice that means the same rule set can cost a different number of IPUs depending on whether it runs on a Secure Agent, on Informatica's serverless runtime, in batch or in real time. Pick the runtime before you size the bundle.

Where Informatica is stronger than we are, stated plainly

Informatica is a full data management platform. It profiles, cleanses, standardizes, matches and deduplicates records, verifies addresses, masks data, runs master data management and a governance catalog, and connects to far more than a cloud warehouse, including on-premises databases and business applications. Salesforce completed its acquisition of Informatica on November 18, 2025, so it now sits inside the Salesforce data platform. We do none of that. We monitor Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks and Redshift tables for freshness, volume, schema and distribution problems, read metadata only, and alert to Slack and PagerDuty. If you need to correct and match customer records, Informatica is built for that job and we are not.

How it works

From connected to caught

01

Decide whether you are buying cleansing or monitoring

Informatica Data Quality is designed to change data: parse it, standardize it, match it, fix it and route exceptions to people. Data observability is designed to watch data and tell you when a production table breaks. Many teams shopping for Informatica Data Quality actually have the second problem, a dashboard that went stale or a table that lost half its rows overnight, and they are about to buy a cleansing platform to solve it. Write down which problem cost you the last three incidents before the first sales call.

02

Get your organization rate card and your meter mix in writing

The metering documentation says the sample rate cards it shows might not reflect the current IPU rates for your organization. So the rate per meter is part of your contract, not a public constant. Ask for the rate card that will apply to you, the tiers on the Data Quality and Advanced Data Quality meters, and an estimate of monthly compute hours for your rule volume on the runtime you will actually use. A bundle size without a meter mix is a guess.

03

Price the extras that quietly draw IPUs

Three things surprise buyers. Sandbox organizations, sub organizations and additional production organizations each have their own meter, and the docs show an additional production organization at a flat 6 IPUs per billing period in their sample. Customer managed keys add a surcharge equal to a percentage of all product IPU usage; the documentation example is a 0.2 rate, which means 20 percent on top. And CLAIRE GPT queries are metered per thousand queries. If security requires your own keys, that percentage belongs in the budget on day one.

04

Benchmark against published prices, not against the quote

Put the Informatica figure next to numbers you can check. Monte Carlo lists 50,000 dollars for 12 months on AWS, Sifflet 48,000, Bigeye 45,000 on its table based listing, Qualytics 60,000 and Acceldata 10,000 for platform access. Soda publishes a Team plan at 750 dollars a month. Our Scale plan is 799 dollars a month billed yearly, which is 9,588 dollars a year for up to 1,500 tables. If your scope is warehouse monitoring, those are the numbers the IPU bundle is competing with.

How an IPU turns into compute hours

Informatica publishes one worked example in its rate card documentation, for the Application Integration meter, and it is useful because it shows how tiering works. The first 60 compute hours cost 1.38 IPUs per hour, hours 61 to 1,200 cost 0.17, and anything above 1,200 costs 0.043. At 5,000 compute hours in a billing period the total is about 440 IPUs, and the count resets to zero when the next period begins. Informatica is explicit that this is a sample and that your organization's rates may differ, and the Data Quality meters carry their own rates. Still, the shape matters: the first hours on a meter are the expensive ones, so spreading a small amount of work across many meters costs more than concentrating it. For illustration only, if the Application Integration sample rates applied, a 120 IPU month would cover roughly 280 compute hours. Get the real rates for the quality meters before you do this arithmetic for your own program.

What the AWS listing says about running over the balance

The listing is candid that consumption is measured per service and that heavier use of any service draws more units. Its buyer questions add that higher data integration processing, larger ingestion volume and heavier Secure Agent activity draw the most, and that master data management is measured on a per domain records basis. On overage it says only that you can upgrade the subscription or add modules at any time and should contact the vendor for details on exceeding your monthly balance. That is the clause to negotiate. Ask what happens to unused IPUs at month end, whether a spike in one month can borrow from the next, and what the price of an additional bundle is mid term, because a platform wallet shared with integration jobs is exactly the kind that runs dry in quarter end.

Why the entry point is six figures

Informatica prices a platform, not a feature. The same 131,760 dollars buys access to integration, ingestion, application integration, the catalog, data quality, master data management and more, and the listing says new eligible services activate automatically once released. For a company that uses several of those services, the bundle can be reasonable value, and it can burn down an AWS Enterprise Discount Program commitment when bought through the marketplace. For a data team that only needs to know whether warehouse tables are fresh and complete, it is a very large wallet for a narrow job. The tool you need decides the price, so size the job first.

What changes after the Salesforce acquisition

Salesforce completed the Informatica acquisition on November 18, 2025, for about 8 billion dollars, and delisted the company from the New York Stock Exchange. Salesforce describes the goal as a unified data foundation for its agent platform. For a buyer that has two practical effects. Renewals are now negotiated with a subsidiary of a much larger vendor, which usually means more bundling and more interest in multi year terms. And roadmap priorities follow the parent. If your warehouse is Snowflake or Databricks rather than Salesforce Data Cloud, ask directly which data quality features are being built for your stack over the next contract term, and get the answer in the order form rather than a slide.

What a warehouse team pays when the price is published instead

Our plans are on the pricing page. Starter is 99 dollars a month billed yearly for one warehouse and up to 50 monitored tables, with all five pillars and seven days of metric history. Team is 299 for up to 250 tables with dbt-native auto-monitors, end-to-end lineage, ML anomaly detection, PagerDuty and 90 days of history. Scale is 799 for up to 1,500 tables across multiple warehouses, with column-level lineage, SSO, an audit log and priority support. Enterprise is priced on request and adds unlimited tables and an in-VPC option. Every plan starts with a 14 day trial and needs no card. If you need to cleanse, match and master records across on-premises systems, buy Informatica. If you need to know when a Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or Redshift table breaks, start with a plan whose price you already know.

Questions buyers ask

Informatica Data Quality pricing FAQ

Does Informatica publish pricing for Data Quality?

Not on its own website. The consumption pricing page explains Informatica Processing Units and ends in a request for a quote. The public figure is on AWS Marketplace, where the Intelligent Data Management Cloud listing sells one bundle of 120 IPUs a month for 131,760 dollars over 12 months. Data Quality draws from that same IPU balance.

What is an IPU in Informatica?

An Informatica Processing Unit is a prepaid credit you spend across the services in Informatica's cloud platform. Each service is measured on its own scalar, such as compute hours, rows processed or API calls, and converted to IPUs at a rate on your organization's rate card. On the AWS listing, one IPU works out to about 91.50 dollars.

How is Informatica Data Quality metered?

By compute unit hours on the Data Quality and Advanced Data Quality meters, with separate meters for the Advanced Serverless runtime, and per million rows on the Data Quality Real Time meter. Data Validation and Address Verification are metered separately too. The IPU rate for each meter is set on your organization's rate card.

What is the Informatica Data Quality license cost per year?

The only published figure is 131,760 dollars a year for a bundle of 120 IPUs a month on AWS Marketplace, and that bundle covers every eligible IDMC service, not just quality. Your cost depends on how many IPUs your rules consume and on your negotiated rate, so ask for a usage estimate by meter before you sign.

Does Informatica offer a free trial of Cloud Data Quality?

Yes. Informatica offers a 30 day Cloud Data Quality trial through a form on its website, and says trials can be extended by talking to sales. Use the trial to measure how many compute hours your real rule set consumes, because that number, not the list price, decides the size of your IPU bundle.

Is Informatica Data Quality worth the cost?

For cleansing, matching, address verification and master data work across many systems, it is one of the most complete products on the market, and the price reflects a whole platform. For monitoring Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or Redshift tables for freshness, volume and schema problems, it is far more than the job requires.

What is a cheaper alternative to Informatica Data Quality for warehouse monitoring?

For warehouse monitoring, our Scale plan is 799 dollars a month billed yearly, 9,588 dollars a year, for up to 1,500 tables with column-level lineage, SSO and an audit log, and Starter is 99 a month for 50 tables. Soda publishes a Team plan at 750 dollars a month. None of these replace Informatica for cleansing or MDM.

Did Salesforce buy Informatica?

Yes. Salesforce completed its acquisition of Informatica on November 18, 2025, in a deal valued at about 8 billion dollars, and Informatica is now a wholly owned subsidiary. Informatica products, including Data Quality, are still sold through Informatica and on AWS Marketplace.
